Spoilers:: "Doomsday" for Doctor Who, and slight "Lazarus Experiment" reference. Post "Objects in Space", pre/during-BDM for Fireflyverse.

Prompt:: Two prompts! 1) Ten is intrigued. Inara is suspicious. There is banter. And eye sex. 2) "You don't want to wait until it's too late."
Notes/Warnings:: One traveler (that strokes bits of his ship) is missing his companion, while one Companion is missing traveling. Then things begin to explode, several people are taken hostage, the Doctor is mistaken for another doctor, and a good deal of fun suspense is had by all, as the Operative tries his hardest to get to one little girl, River Tam.

In case you're wondering about the title, dictionary.com defines it as: the state of being restored or reestablished; restitution.

A good deal of the dialogue between the Doctor and the Operative is lifted from Terry Pratchett’s Night Watch which is a fantastic book, much like Life on Mars but even better. goldy_dollar beta’d for me, and did a fine job of it! This fic was written for the sonic_tea ficathon, and is finally at its conclusion. Thank you all for reading! I’ve had fun writing this!

Summary: The Doctor teams up with Inara to solve a series of strange disappearances, resulting in much angst, confusion, banter, exploding things, and, oh, a mind-meld.
Spoilers: Post-"Doomsday" for DW, Post-series and Pre-BDM for Firefly. Shout-outs to DW 2x04, "The Girl in the Fireplace," and Torchwood 1x02, "Day One."

Author's Note: This prompt was challenging, but I had quite a bit of fun writing the fic, plot and all. I wanted these two characters to meet during very hard times for them both, emotionally speaking, while still having a DW-style plot (mainly so Inara could meet Ten and be completely confuzzled ;)). I made some icons, headers, and wallpapers, and thought I'd post them. I'll probably continue to make them. If anybody wants to modify them, just ask- I can do it, I still have the .psd files too for most of them. Comment and credit if you take!

Can I just reiterate how YOU ARE ALL GENIUSES??!! I had a Ten/Inara-y night, and everything about it was gorgeous and thought-provoking and character-exploration-y, and it was all because of you. I adore you. That's right -- YOU.

So: I'm not really sure what to make of this. Mostly I hope you enjoy it, because I think it got away from me a bit. Basically, I sent someone very pretty and empathic to try and take away some of Ten's emo, and, well, you go ahead and tell me how you think that worked out. I thought about making the title of this "TENTH DOCTOR NEEDS A HUG; DISCUSS" but then figured that would sound unprofessional. Heh. (Anyway, my point is that I might have to do another Ten/Inara crossover to do everything I set out to do in the first place. You know, all the stuff the muse-iness of this distracted me from. Would any of you complain?)

YOU ARE ALL GENIUSES!

Keep writing and feedbacking and doing whatever else it is that you do, because the sheer amount of totally amazing Whovian Firefly-ness that I have seen over the past couple of days is SONICALLY SHINY. That's right.

In an effort to show you how totally okay we are with people posting fics a day or two past the deadline, I am going to sit on mine and tweak it more before I post it because I don't think it's ready yet. :P

But just know that people are dying to read yours. DYING.

Go forth and feedback and pimp and make sure the world knows that it's Ten/Inara Time. Seriously, this is so awesome.

If you think your fic will be a few days late, ~~I will obviously come after you with my sonic screwdriver and burn you with hot tea~~ that's fine. We're out to have Crazy Crackficing Crossover Fun. Don't stress. *nods*

Summary: Another ‘Ten and Inara meet at a party just as something goes horribly wrong’ fic. I was a little worried when I read lily_268’s, but I think we ended up doing something quite different. :D

Prompt: Ten and Inara bump into each other at some upper-society Core function. There is chemistry. There is dancing. Perhaps Inara even helps him save the world.

"On June 20," Inara confirmed. "That's... what? Less than a week? I am certain the community's members are well prepared. After all, you do need some sort of cheering up from this strange funk you've fallen into this season. And I come very highly recommended."

Is it just me, or is June 20 taking FOREVER to get here? ALL I WANT TO DO IS READ AND WRITE TEN/INARA. ALL I WANT TO DO. That, and eat peanut butter sandwiches.

I think I wouldn't be too far off if I were to say right now that goldy_dollar and I are COMPLETELY IN LOVE WITH YOU ALL. Seriously. We've been completely bowled over by your responses and are literally CHOMPING AT THE BIT waiting to read your fics. Except ... we're not horses. We're tired-out university students. You have made goldy_dollar's analysis of government documents and my computational fluid dynamics SO MUCH MORE BEARABLE. And for that, we thank you.

So the deal is this: when you finish your fic, you must post it here with the header goldy_dollar suggested (just copy, paste, and fill in, taking special care to mention Season 3 spoilers!):

I have now given posting access to everybody who signed up for a prompt. If you signed up for a prompt but have not yet joined the community, I obviously couldn't do that ... so join, poke me, and you'll get posting access so you can be set to go when you finish writing.

Don't forget to grab a beta or two. They really do make life more fun, and fics more polished. :) Feel free to use this community (and your shiny posting access) to seek them out, too -- we all want to read and write Ten/Inara fanfiction. It's why we're here.
